Cyberpunk 2077: 48 Minute Demo

News: CD Projekt Red’s hugely anticipated futuristic role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2077, gets a massive 48 minute video demonstration providing more proof that this is the studio to beat and the game you should be drooling over.

Thoughts: Polish studio CD Projekt Red have developed some of my favorite games over the last decade. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and its sequel, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, are among my favorite role-playing videogames. Even the studios smaller project, Gwent, is a fantastic reimagining of the in-world fantasy card game originally found in the Witcher 3. With Cyberpunk 2077 the studio is further branching out, and further testing their own limits, and looks to be the next benchmark for digital role playing games.

From stunning visuals showcasing a dark and gritty atmosphere, to incredibly quick and chaotic combat that see’s you drowning, hacking and jacking enemies, to leaning outside a car window as you fire on moving enemies down a busy street, Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be embracing its mature setting as much as possible to both delight the pen and paper fans of the original source material, as well as entertain newcomers that are sick of the same old fantasy settings that have been the norm for some time now.

I am ecstatic that CD Projekt Red are continuing to push themselves and aren’t just resting on their laurels. They are a studio that have shown, time and again, that they care about their fans and their craft. They continue to make cinematic story focused titles that provide us with lasting memories as well as games that provide us with more than enough bang for our buck. The talented coders, artists and writers at the studio should be proud of their work, both past and future, as from the videos we’ve seen so far, the studio looks to be making another masterpiece. It’ll be nice to finally play it in…2021
