News: After much teasing Ubisoft finally lifted the veil on one of their new games launching in 2016, Far Cry Primal. Set in an age where prehistoric wonders such as mammoths and sabretooth tigers roam the lands you will play as Takkar as you try to keep your wits about you and stay alive as the last remaining member of your hunting party.
Thoughts: While a new Far Cry is exciting, and i’ve always wanted a game that puts you up against prehistoric beasts, I can’t help but wonder if its just too soon. Far Cry 4 was a great game but at the same time it felt just a little too familiar. Too safe. And not only did Ubisoft just reveal Far Cry Primal today but they also announced a release date, February 23rd 2016! With such a short wait until the final game is on our televisions is this even a “real” Far Cry or is it just another Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon?
Blood Dragon was a fun game but it was more of a side expansion than a full retail package that pushed the franchise forward. I have enjoyed the Far Cry franchise since the original but I can’t help but worry that Ubisoft are releasing them too quickly and not allowing the series to truly evolve.
