Having only just released the successor to the Wii, Nintendo is now launching another new console; the Wii Mini. Although it will only initially be available in Canada, the idea that Nintendo would take the time to create a redesign for their hit console and then only release it in one country, and also only for the holidays, is kind of dumb. I expect this launch to be a test, and the possibility of the Wii Mini launching in other regions down the road is a big possibility. The Wii Mini is a smaller iteration of the Wii and in bringing down the size it loses the backwards compatibility with the GameCube and also oddly the Ethernet port, or any internet functionality at all! Nintendo’s brilliance with the internet continues. Canadian residents can expect to see this smaller redder console on shelves on December 7th at $99.
